Together We Thrive
Together We Thrive is a FREE community program offered by Under the Stump, in partnership with the Towns of Norris Point and Rocky Harbour, who generously provide space to help support these wonderful community events.
Supporting Together We Thrive
Donations to Together We Thrive help support FREE community gatherings for seniors and persons with disabilities/challenges. Contributions may help cover meals, craft supplies, accessibility supports, music, storytelling activities, healthy snacks, transportation-related needs, and other costs connected to offering safe, welcoming, and meaningful social events.
Every donation helps create another opportunity for someone to get out, connect, share a meal, hear a story, create something with their hands, enjoy local music, contribute to their community, and feel part of something.
Together, we can reduce isolation, strengthen community, and help one another thrive.
Donations can be E-transferred to info@underthestump.ca.
When donating please identify yourself in the comments section of the E-transfer as we would like to say thank you.
This program was created with one simple purpose: to bring people together.
During the fall, winter, and spring, it can be easy for people to become isolated, especially seniors, persons with mobility challenges, persons with disabilities, and those who may not have regular opportunities to gather socially. Together We Thrive helps create a warm, welcoming space where people can come out of their homes, share a meal, enjoy conversation, take part in storytelling, enjoy craft sessions, listen to music, and feel connected to a larger community.
These events are open to everyone within this demographic, whether they are local, from the surrounding region, or visiting the area. Everyone is welcome to take part, connect with others, and feel included.
Each gathering is built around kindness, inclusion, creativity, culture, music, and belonging. Guests are invited to enjoy a healthy meal, listen to stories, share memories, participate in social activities, take part in craft sessions, and spend time with others in a relaxed and supportive environment. Music is provided by local musicians who generously volunteer their time to support the event and help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Together We Thrive is also strengthened by the people it serves. Seniors and persons with disabilities/challenges help support the success of these gatherings through setting up, cleaning up, preparing and providing healthy snacks, and contributing to the welcoming spirit of the event. Their involvement helps make the program feel like a true community gathering, where everyone has a place and everyone has something meaningful to offer.
These events are not just about food, crafts, music, or entertainment — they are about connection, dignity, laughter, purpose, and making sure people know they are not alone.
Together We Thrive has also been supported through mental health and wellness initiatives, along with continued support from Under the Stump. These partnerships and supports help make it possible to offer the program FREE of charge in rural and remote communities where access to social programming can be limited.
